In the following paragraphs EdTech Foundry AS, the company developing Differ, is detailing for you, the user, how and to which extent your personal data will be collected by us and processed by us or third parties, and also, how we ensure that your personal data and information is protected. Differ (the “Service”) is a service provided by EdTech Foundry AS (the “Company”). We need to collect data to provide our Service to our users and Customers, to learn about Service usage in order to improve the Service, and to develop services and products related to education and technology. Without processing personal data, we are unable to provide you with the services you expect when signing up to use the app.

The data that you give us: When you sign up and use our Service you will provide us with information such as your email address, your name and your telephone number.

We will collect information from your use of our Service such as: Content, messages, information, text, graphics, videos, or other material shared by you in our Service, and information about how, when and where you are using the Service.
If you are our customer, we will collect your billing, payment information, and any other information necessary for us to fulfill our obligation to you as a customer, according to the conditions in your customer agreement with us.
We use cookies on our websites and when you access the Service through a web-browser. We store cookies on your device so we can make it easier for you to log in and use our Services.
Your data may be accessed by personnel working at or affiliated with EdTech Foundry. Also, data may be disclosed to our 3rd party suppliers when necessary to provide our Services to you. And we may disclose data to other parties when such disclosure is necessary to comply with law, regulation or legal requests.
We want to let you know that some of your information is by default public such as your profile picture, username and name, as well as information about your communities such as their names and cover photo. This information may be found by other people on Differ or online.
Since Differ is a communication app, you can share data with other users on the platform, such as through direct messages, group chats and communities. In doing so, you grant us the right to share this data with these users, whether this is with individuals, groups, communities or public to anyone using the service.
We work with 3rd party suppliers in order to operate our Service. You can find an updated list of our suppliers that process personal data on our behalf here. For suppliers outside the European Economic Area, data processing agreements based on EU’s Standard Model Clauses are used to ensure adequate security and protection of your data.
If you activate third party service integrations when you use our Service, you grant us the right to transfer data to these third parties on your behalf. We are not responsible for how the third party integrations use the data, therefore we recommend checking their privacy policy before using third party integrations.
The law is the law; therefore if we receive a law enforcement to share or disclose information, we will do so. However where the law permits us to do so, we will provide prior notice to the subject of such a request.

Company’s data processing is governed by Norwegian law, and by Norway’s membership in the EEA, applicable EU Directives and Regulations. Company may transfer and access personal data across national borders. The Service is not intended for and should not be used by anyone under the age of thirteen. You represent that you are over the age of 13. If you are not over the age of 13, you may not access or use the Services for any purpose.
